The show: Lie Sangbong
Let me start off by saying that NYFW is one of the most fast paced and amazing things I've ever been able to witness. These designers work so hard all year to put together a runway show that lasts about 15 minutes. How they are able to portray so many looks that represent their brand for a given season so well is beyond me! Lie Sangbong was a mix of structure and asymmetrics with a hint of cultural tradition. The music and runway setup really played to the roots of the designer. I would wear almost everything that went down that runway at Moynihan Station, which is hard to say about a runway collection, especially when looks tend to be more artistic than wearable in this setting.
For this show I went in all black because I was actually helping out at the show! Knowing that Lie Sangbong is a fan of asymmetrical pieces, I went with the theme by wearing this faux leather Zara skirt. It looks so chic and is a cool spin on the normal leather skirt. I chose to rock a a flowy high neck sweater top from H&M, but this could also be worn with an elegant flowy crop top or tucked in blouse. The possibilities are endless. I knew I was going be on foot a lot, so I opted for my favorite H&M boots. They are high enough to look formal enough and low enough for me to be comfortable walking all day! These are for sure my go-tos in the fall. Ankle boots are the direction that trend is moving as opposed to tall boots (unless they have a heel). I know...lots of boot rules. Silver jewelry never fails and creates a cooler look than gold does. I recommend gold for when you wear warmer colored clothing. Silver is great for cooler colors and prints!
