Babes Against Bullsh*t Jacket + Wrap Skirt

Claudia Di Capua

T-Shirt: J. CrewJacket: Understated Leather via RevolveSkirt: Topshop (very similar here) / Boots: Public DesireSunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

It’s the start of a new week, so I thought a slightly motivational post would be fitting. With all of the recent women’s initiatives that have taken the world, but especially the U.S. by storm, it only seemed appropriate to show my support using my mode of creativity —clothing. I wanted this ‘Babes Against Bullshit’ Understated Leather denim jacket last summer, but it wasn’t until a few months ago that I found it on sale! I was so happy to have snagged it. QUICK TIP: if you love something, but aren’t ready to pay the price, remove it from your cart and add it to your (what is this called). This has worked well for me on sites like Revolve because this section lives right below your cart, so you can always see when they have adjusted an item to a lower price!

I’m obsessed with cool patchwork and love how the ‘Babes Against Bullshit’ has a slightly western feel to it. The light wash and cropped, raw edge denim makes this jacket a perfect piece for summer! I linked this jacket along with another similar version above!

This asymmetric wrap skirt has been so useful in the almost two years that I’ve had it. It transitions so well from day to night and has a super cool balanced, but off-balanced look. The check print is super on trend and the belt adds some visual depth and interest. For a warm spring day, a simple t-shirt is all you need. It’s fits so comfortably underneath a denim jacket!

I paired this look with my white stiletto Public Desire boots (which are weirdly hard to come by in this style anymore), rounding off the subtle space cowgirl look I had going. While I could have gone with jeans, it was too perfect of an opportunity to wear this skirt. Always test out all of your theories! I’ll save the denim on denim for another day!

Navy Layers in the Flatiron District

Claudia Di Capua

Sweater: Madewell (Identical here) | Pants: Zara (Identical here) | Coat: Mackage Sneakers: Adidas

The Look

There is no better feeling in blogging than completing a bunch of look shoots after waking up at 5:30am in frigid temperatures. One of our most productive days came this past Sunday, when we hit the bare streets of New York to power through a few looks. This was one of them! Naturally, the first look and earliest shoot includes PJ vibes.

This look combines everything from high end to affordable, which is what I normally strive for. I found these awesome pinstripe, tearaway pants on sale at Zara! They still have tons of similar styles on sale, so definitely check them out. I am always wearing jeans, so changing it up with a wide leg trouser was just what I needed to shake things up! These pants are so comfortable and I absolutely love wearing them with sneakers. They give these pants and look as a whole a street style vibe and effortless feel.

I decided to pair these pants with a super soft and cozy sweater from Madewell. The mock neck is perfect because it’s looser than a turtleneck, but high enough to block that cold early morning wind! Again, this sweater falls a little above the price range of Zara, and below that of the Mackage coat. I’ve never found a sweater from Madewell that wasn’t soft, so it’s definitely one of my first places to look for them!

Finally, I completed this look with a Navy dress coat by Mackage. I did this partly to get that monochrome navy look, and partly to create a look with higher end and affordable pieces. I love this coat because you can dress it down very easily as you can see, and dress it way up over a dress with heels. It is very versatile, but also references subtle street style vibes. The extra long belt makes me think of Off White with their bright yellow or white waist belts! It’s small things like this this that truly complete an outfit and finding inspiration in other designers and clothing is key to getting the most out of your closet!

Acne Jeans + New Favorite Knit

Claudia Di Capua

Sweater: ReissJeans: Acne Studios Boots: Stuart Weitzman | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Beret: Urban Outfitters

The Look

It's one of the warmest days of winter today, but I'm posting this anyway! As I was putting this post together, I realized that I love and look up to many of the brands I'm wearing in this post. For example, I love Stuart Weitzman's amazing suede work, Acne Studio's commitment to street style and Reiss for their simplistic elegance. I recently became acquainted with Reiss and am so happy to have tried it out. I could honestly wear this sweater without a coat because it does it's job of keeping me warm very well! I normally wear a light long sleeve top underneath and I'm good to go. Blue is my favorite color, so finding this style of sweater, which is one of my favorites, in this icy blue color for winter was a no-brainer.

I'm in love Acne Studios. I love how their pieces have asymmetrical lines and how they have a signature streetstyle look. They do oversized so well, but I went with the skinny jeans this time around! I had been on the hunt for a pair of grey jeans for a while as my closet is oversaturated with blue and black jeans. Their jeans are fairly priced and super high quality! I expected the price to be annoyingly high, but was pleasantly surprised to see that that they were right on pace with many of my other jeans.

Next, let's talk shoes and accessories. These Stuart Weitzman boots hit it out of the park for me. I love the rich, warm tone and texture of this grey. It looks luxurious and different than the lighter and colder looking grey that most other over the knee boots have. I'm always a fan of slightly different and unique! These boots are on sale now for half the price!! Definitely check them out above. I went for my old and new favorites for accessories. The old being the Ray Bans and the new being the beret. I wasn't sure I would love the beret, so I got one for a lower price. I like to test new items out this way so that I don't spend a fortune on something I may not love in a few months. Luckily, this isn't the case for this beret as I can't seem to take it off!

P.S. Those Great Danes though!! I wish they were mine, but they're not. A friendly pedestrian let me borrow them for a picture or two :).
