Outfit information and tips are located at the bottom of this post!
This past weekend some of my friends and I took a girls trip to Block Island! These beachy locations means my wardrobe was going to be full of flowy tops, bikinis, lots of blues and whites and few to no shoes. The island is definitely worth a visit! the ocean is amazing and the waves are just enough to be fun, but not too much that its uncomfortable. Make sure to bring extra cash as well! As for the clothing, I found this Aqua top at Bloomingdales earlier this summer and bought it on a whim. I kid you not, it has been a go to for any summer trips and events! It works perfectly with high waisted shorts or pants and can easily be dressed up or down. As you can see, I went barefoot so that I could stick my toes in the ocean and in all honesty, be way more comfy! Everyone should invest in a pair of good denim shorts that aren't too short in length. I love this distressed pair from Free People because the frays look very naturally (because hey have unwound over time) and they sit slightly higher on the waist. On hot summer beach days, I like to keep everything simple and easy by wearing minimal jewelry and throwing on a pair of sunglasses. I take this 21st birthday necklace with me everywhere (thanks mom!), so I figured that would be enough. My rose colored sunnies helped to bring some warmth into my looks since pretty much everything was blue or white! The round look is a fun trend for summer and the flash lens is what had me sold!
Other Ways To Style
I would dress up the top more by wearing a cropped flare jean and a lace up heel!
