Leopard Print in Soho

Claudia Di Capua

Dress: LoaviesJacket: Ivy Revel Boots: GuessSunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

Prints - Something I have stayed away from like the plague, until now. I have seriously warmed up to the whole leopard print deal. I saw this dress online and figured why not try it. I will warn you that although I bought this dress on Loavies, they do not pay for return or exchange shipping from the US back to Europe, which ends up costing more than the dress itself. I ended up buying two of the same dress and am now selling one of them (let me know if you are interested)! Make sure you nail your size the first time around and you'll be golden!

The dress is similar to something you'd find at Zara or Mango, which I was fine with given the great price I got it for. I love how flowy it is and how I can layer it. This dress works for three out of the four seasons and all it takes is a little creativity with layering and shoe choice! I could wear it in the spring with a simple heel, but also in the fall with a sweater and light jacket plus a pair of OTK boots. I could get even sportier and wear it with sneakers as well. So many possibilities!

Subtle and simple details can really add to a look. For example, I grappled with wearing a pair of shorter combat boots with this, but figured it would be slightly too cold. The faux fur on the sleeves of the coat sort of mirror the animal theme we have going with the dress. The ties on the hips of the dress as well as the neck make the dress much more feminine and the gold details on the bag and sunglasses make everything look more luxe. Try a few of these things out and I promise, your look will stand out just a little but more!

Repurposing Summer Pieces for Fall Layers

Claudia Di Capua

Sweater: Della Ciana Cashmere (Similar here) / Dress: Rails LA via RevolveScarf: Urban OutfittersBoots: AsosBag: Haute Look (Very similar here) / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

One of my favorite styles this season happens to be the layered skirt/dress. This is where an oversized sweater and accessories layers on top of a flowy dress or skirt. I got this dress in the summer as you may remember I wore it in Greece (check out that post here)! This layering technique is an easy way to extend its seasonal shelf life. I wore a pair of warm socks and a quality cashmere sweater to keep me warm since my legs were out. I was totally fine and comfortable despite the windy day! Throwing on a scarf helped too! It's super important to wear quality jackets/sweaters when doing this to compensate for heat loss since your legs are exposed.

I was thinking about how many sweaters and dresses I currently have and found that I have an endless supply of this look in various lengths, shapes and colors. Take a look in your closet and you probably have all of the pieces to pull a look like this together as well! I'm excited to try this look using cooler colors like grey and blue with a mid length dress and combat boots once it gets a little colder.

Pointed toe shoes are a must right now! I'm in love with these ones from Asos. Quick Tip: if the ankle of the shoe isn't very fitted, you can give the illusion of a closer fit by wearing taller socks like I am in the photos. These boots are so useable and go with everything! I have found the Asos and Nordstrom have the best styles for the best prices!

Golden Hour in Aritzia

Claudia Di Capua

Dress: AritziaBomber Jacket: AritziaSunglasses: Ray-BanSneakers: Cole Haan

The Look

I love a simple slip dress, but finding it in a midi length and in this sheeny color made it the perfect one for me! I truly have been looking to Aritzia for a lot of my fall pieces because their collections have been killing it lately. It may come as no surprise that this matching bomber jacket is also also by Aritzia! The dress has a amazing movement and is so comfortable to wear. Seriously, like wearing pj's. The subtle shine looks gorgeous as the light hits it, giving it a nice contrast to the jacket and a little bit of a luxurious, silky look!

Bomber jackets have always been my go-to street style item because they can be layered and worn with some many different things. I love combining sporty pieces with more delicate and feminine items like the slip dress. The jacket is a fabric material creating a matte contrast to the dress, which I think balances out the look nicely.

I want to highlight the versatility of each of these pieces. The dress can easily be dolled up by throwing a pair of simple strap heels for something like a wedding for example. Worn with a shawl, you have the perfect wedding guest look. This jacket looks great with a longer t-shirt, light wash jeans and boots of any kind. There is truly so much you can do!

I love the idea of a set look like this, but just as a side note, these pieces did not come together. I love how Aritzia has a great color consistency throughout their collections, which is what allowed me to match this dress and jacket perfectly! A color like this deserves a golden hour shoot like this.
