Striped Denim + Retro Accessories

Claudia Di Capua

Top: Madewell / Jeans: ReformationHeels: Public Desire (Similar here) / Scarf: HermèsBag: Express (Similar here) / Sunglasses: Asos

The Look

It has been a minute! I've been so wrapped up in getting my travel posts up that I put a lot of the lookbook posts on the back burner this summer. While I included my looks and links to them in those travel posts, it's still nice to get back to my roots of style posts and how/why I put them together. Marijn and I tested out a new camera for these shots and couldn't be more pleased! September will be a whole new animal for us.

Now, back to the look. I've been experimenting a lot with different denim style, so these striped and structured reformation spoke to me. I love the cut and almost boxiness of them. Not to mention, they suck you is in all the right places. Seriously, you can actually feel the material tightening up around the upper thigh area and waist. I find this too be super flattering, but at ties a tad uncomfortable. Nothing I can't deal with for how great your legs look when wearing them! The vertical stripes give your legs that elongated look, especially when worn with heels!

With the jeans as the focus of the look, I went very comfortable and easy breezy for the rest of the look. A simple white t-shirt should always be on hand for moments like these. As you can, it complements the heels nicely, but this look is just as easily worn with sneakers. My sheer orange sunnies (found on Asos) and hairstyle give the entire look a very retro vibe. I love how th eorange tint of the lenses works so well with the warm tones of the Hermès scarf. Speaking of which, wrapping scarves around handbag handles has to be one of my new favorite thing to do with accessories!

Welcoming Spring in Tommy Jeans

Claudia Di Capua

Sweater: Tommy Jeans via UOJeans: Citizens of HumanityBoots: Public Desire (similar here) | Sunglasses: AsosBag: Express (similar here)

THE LOOK

Oversized items will always have my heart. I accidentally came across this Tommy Jeans sweater while browsing around for things I didn't need and kind of fell in love it!  I love the vintage race car vibes it gives and blue is my favorite color. It goes great withe jeans, shorts and skirts and provides a street style aesthetic due to its shape and size. I'm a sucker for extra long arms on tops and sweaters! A little trick I use to elongate and give my legs a slimming effect is to wear longer tunic style items. Longer items actually make my legs look longer and slimmer if it hits that mid thigh sweet spot.

These Citizens of Humanity jeans are some of the comfiest ones I own! I love the light material and how much movement I get in them. The tears are just enough to feel effortless without looking like they went through the shredder. I would categorize them as half boyfriend jean and half boot leg. I'm not a fan of when the boyfriend jean is too wide, so having this pair be just wide enough to meet the top of my boots was ideal!

If you read my last post you know that I turn to Asos when testing out new trends to get good prices on things I'm not sure of. I followed this same strategy when trying out skinny sunglasses. I ended up loving them! Full disclosure: They look way cooler than they function. Of course, having such a small lens makes sunglasses less effective, but they look super cool. Do it for the fashion! I paired this look with white boots to make the white in the sweater pop. Highly recommend a pair of white boots because the work for pretty much every season!

Slouchy Knits with SheIn

Claudia Di Capua

Outfit information and tips are located at the bottom of this post!

Sweater: SheIn / Scarf: Urban Outfitters / Jeans: Madewell / Belt: Gucci / Boots: Asos (also here) / Bag: Express / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

In collaboration with SheIn, I put together this look featuring one of their sweaters! *SIDE NOTE* Did you guys notice that the photos are a bit clearer?! Well, I got a new camera lens that has done wonders! I digress.

This cozy knit is perfect for breezy weather. I'm obsessed with the bell sleeves and soft material. It also reminds me of a Free People styled sweater, but at a very affordable price! I paired this slouchy knit with an even slouchier blanket scarf from Urban Outfitters. This scarf has saved my life in chilly weather. I love wrapping it around my neck for that oversized cozy feel and wearing long like I did in this post. It is so versatile and really keeps me warm! I found these high waisted Madewell jeans by accident, but I'm so glad I did. They are the perfect skinny and sit just right at the waist. I love have rich the black shade looks on these jeans as well. They meets the sweater so that I can easily tuck the front into the jeans, allowing whatever belt I'm wearing to peek out. Speaking of which, I've been living in this Gucci belt! It goes with absolutely everything and adds a simple luxe vibe to your look. Of course, can't forget about these killer boots! They bring pointed toe to a new level. I love the shape, smoothness of the leather and studding detail. Officially my new favorite ankle boots!

Shop any part of this look using the links above! This sweater is priced amazingly and be quick with the boots because there aren't very many sizes left. Happy shopping and let me know what you thought about this look on my Instagram or in the comments below!
