My Subtle Style Changes + Light Summer Layers

Claudia Di Capua

Top: H&M (Similar below) / Blazer: H&MJeans: Current / ElliottEarrings: MejuriHeels: Stuart WeitzmanBag: Express / Scarf: Hermes (Similar here) / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

Changing it up little by little is the goal of summer 2018. I’ve made subtle adjustments to everything from my styling to my editing! While all components of this look are things I already had in my closet and would normally wear, the combination of them all is what makes it slightly different for me. For example, I am a true tucker-inner. Almost every time you see me in a t-shirt, it is tucked into high waisted jeans. This time around, I kept the shirt untucked over a pair of boyfriend jeans with a summer blazer. When I wear a blazer, it normally means that something is getting tucked in below, but styling it the way I did felt more breezy, comfortable and summeresque.

While I don’t have a lot of blazers that are specifically great for summer weather, it is something that I would like to invest more in. They go so well with t-shirts and camis and can easily be dressed down. I would wear this top and blazer with a pair of jean shorts and sneakers as well! This t-shirt is sold out, but I linked a bunch of favorites above that would be great additions to your closet this summer!

QUICK TIP: Add a few more lives to your simple handbags by wrapping a scarf around the strap. I’m obsessed with doing this lately and it really adds depth to your look. Super easy to change scarves to match your look as well!

These Current Elliott jeans are 100% my summer go to and I’d go as far as to say one of my best purchases this season. I found them on sale via Hautelook and am considering getting a second pair! The shape is super flattering and the cropped length makes them perfect to wear with heels or sneakers. I’ve always been a fan of showing a little ankle. In this case, I went for simple Stuart Weitzman sandal since I went casual with the untucked top. This look is a great representation of the easy going yet put together vibe I am going for this season. What new things will you be trying?! Let me know in the comments!

Teddy Coat + Alexander Wang

Claudia Di Capua

Top: H&M Jacket: i.am.giaPants: H&MBoots: Alexander WangSunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

Vacation is officially over (although keep an eye out for the St.Lucia video coming soon) and I’m back to the NY street style. Not taking this lightly as you can see with this combination of teddy coat, patent leather and a sheer top! I was inspired by the styling of I.am.gia products. The website and Instagram is super edgy and I’m all about it.

This jacket is from—you guessed it—I.am.gia. If you’re looking for a cool statement piece with a little attitude, that site is for you! This jacket is so cozy and priced perfectly. I wanted a teddy coat that would look oversized, but not sloppy and have movement rather than staying stiff. I.am.gia did all of that  and more! I love it so much I may get it in black too.

Similar to how they would style a look on the I.am.gia website, I went with a pair of patent leather pants and sheer top from H&M. This top has proven to be so useful for layering. You can wear it with everything from a leather jacket to under a button down blouse. It’s perfect on it’s own as well with high waisted jeans! The mock neck look is what solidifies that minimal street style vibe. I have been very into cropped pants as of late. I will always love my jeans, but branching out into other pant styles has helped to broaden my wardrobe. Patent pants are great because you can keep them edgy pretty easily because they are by nature, or you can make them more elegant by adding a feminine blouse.

One of my favorite purchases of the season has to be these Alexander Wang boots! The soles are the perfect height, the leather is as smooth as can be and there is the perfect amount of studding. The silver details are what sold me on this boot as it adds that contrast. They fit true to size and are the perfect go-tos!

Cropped Puffer Jacket x Klasse14 Timepiece

Claudia Di Capua

Sweater: Genuine People / Coat: H&MJeans: Levi'sSunglasses: Elizabeth & James Heels Public DesireWatch: Klasse14

The Collab

I have grown a new love for watches thanks to blogging. I love sharing the awesome brand I get to work with and happy to say that Klasse14 is one of them. They create details and unique timepieces that are different from the usual. The one I am sporting is called the Volare silver are has such a gorgeous face! I love how it is sunken in a bit giving it that depth and visual appeal. It would make for an awesome holiday gift so make sure to get yours in time!

The Look

I haven't had a puffer coat in a while, so I went with the puffiest one I could find! I was inspired by Danielle of We Wore What as I saw this jacket on her Snapchat, which helped visualize my own look with it. The cropped shape makes it a very street style piece while the puffiness really does help insulate heat. It is super comfy and I love wearing it with fitted jeans and heeled boots. The short length of the jacket actually helps to elongate your body!

The 70's era has been showing up in many of my looks as of late. For some reason, I have been very drawn to the look and colors of that time. This Genuine People sweater for example embodies the knitwear you would see back in the 70's. I love the warm colors (believe it or not) and it paired really well with the jacket. The extra long sleeves have to be my favorites part! They stick out of the sleeves of my jacket making it cozier.

As for my bottoms, this pair of Levi's wedgie fit jeans are a go-to of mine since they work with just about anything. The cropped, raw ankle contrasts perfectly with my white ankle boots. They graze each other just enough. Overall, the look works in a way that has all pieces complementing each other. Whether it's colors matching with the white on the sweater and the heels or cute and style, the look has a flow that I love!
