Amsterdam Leopard Moment

Claudia Di Capua

It has definitely been a minute since I last posted, but I wanted to hop back on here and share one of my favorite looks from my last trip to Holland! I recently locked down a lot of these pieces and will continue to share different ways of styling them.

Let’s start with the leopard print bottoms. I’ve had my eye on these Reformation beauties since the the summer of 2018, but of course they were always sold out! I finally snagged a pair about a month ago and I loved them so much that I bought the red cobra version as well! The ultra high waist and fit to small flare high ankle gives of a 60s vibe, which I love. I love combining these pants with either a super fitted top or super loose top. In this case I went with a sheer, black and fitted turtleneck from Aritzia-my favorite everyday turtleneck to date! It’s soft and the perfect amount of sheer. The pants come high enough up on the waist to add that slimming silhouette when paired with a fitted top.

To finish off this look, I went for edgier details and accessories. Starting with the leather jacket with faux fur collar. The fur makes the jacket little winterier and keeps me warmer. Got this jacket for such a steal on Mango! My Laval fanny pack is truly the Mary Poppins bag. I can fit so much inside without it being overwhelming. I wear it like a crossbody for that added street style look. Putting this look slightly over the top in a good way are my favorite leather boots by Alexander Wang. I got them last Fall and have never looked back! They have such a cool look while also remaining functional. Hard to find, especially with designer shoes! The soles are vibram, which are great for outdoor and more rugged use.

Adding Color to My Favorite Wardrobe Staple

The Look

Surprise! Adding a pop of color to my wardrobe of black, white, grey and blues. Believe it or not, pink is a color that I have not avoided (for the most part). I love a good leather jacket, so when I was in Holland shopping at Mango, I figured I would switch it up and go for the pink rather than my usual black selection.

This biker cut faux leather is right up my alley and is ideal for layering! I put it on top of the softest Madewell sweater I've ever had, probably softest sweater I've ever had in general. The mock neck is so comfortable and perfect for people that like the turtleneck look, but get easily itchy or constricted. This one is not fitted and again is the softest thing EVER! Continuing the Madewell trend, I paired the upper half with a pair of their high waisted skinny jeans. They have a super dark wash and a very slight sheen, which makes them great to dress up or to wear casually.

The belt is western inspired and pretty tamed as far as design. The engraving and size makes it pretty versatile. This makes it easy to fit through belt loops and simple to match with a lot of looks. I have a slight obsession with my grey Free People scarf as well! It's about as soft as the sweater and they complement each other well. I'm all about the layered look, so the jacket combined with the sweater and scarf were a perfect combo (and very warm/cozy I might add)! As for accessories, I kept it to a few oldies but goodies. These H&M boots and studded cross body bag have never failed me! The bag fits my iPhone 7 Plus, so that's good too (haha).
