Black Puffer in Soho + How I Test Out New Styles & Trends

Claudia Di Capua

Top: Express (similar here) | Coat: Gimo's (similar here) | Jeans: Levi'sBoots: Alexander WangSunglasses: Asos (similar here) | Belt: HauteLook

It’s still cold out, so I’m still breaking out jackets and coats! When it comes to puffer coats, I like to select ones that have something special or unique to them, otherwise it looks like any puffer. This slightly longer jacket has a slight sheen to the black material, which drew me in. The dramatic white collar and zipper line are what sold me! The puffer is warm on its own, but the fur collar take it to another level. This was super helpful on this particular day because I was wearing a sleeveless turtleneck underneath. I linked a similar one above because this one is a showroom pull and comes out next season.

Most of the items in this look were found in my closet, meaning I didn’t have to go out and buy new things to build this look. I love when that happens! In fact, this sleeveless turtleneck, Levi’s jeans, belt and Alexander Wang boots are a bunch of my favorite go to’s for everyday use. The look is very clean, but includes a hint of edginess with the boots and accessories.

How I Test New Trends

Colored sunglasses were something I had been wanting to try, but not something I wanted to spend a chunk of money on before I was sure I liked them. In these moments, I turn to Asos. This online store has literally everything! Asos always has the best prices on versions of trending or popular styles of any fashion item. I highly recommend turning to them if you want to try a new style, but are not sold 100% yet. I ended up liking my colored sunglasses, but if I hadn’t, I would have only lost $10 if I chose not to return them. Once you start strategizing your purchases, you end up saving money in the long run and purchasing what you love more often.

Slouchy Knits with SheIn

Claudia Di Capua

Outfit information and tips are located at the bottom of this post!

Sweater: SheIn / Scarf: Urban Outfitters / Jeans: Madewell / Belt: Gucci / Boots: Asos (also here) / Bag: Express / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

In collaboration with SheIn, I put together this look featuring one of their sweaters! *SIDE NOTE* Did you guys notice that the photos are a bit clearer?! Well, I got a new camera lens that has done wonders! I digress.

This cozy knit is perfect for breezy weather. I'm obsessed with the bell sleeves and soft material. It also reminds me of a Free People styled sweater, but at a very affordable price! I paired this slouchy knit with an even slouchier blanket scarf from Urban Outfitters. This scarf has saved my life in chilly weather. I love wrapping it around my neck for that oversized cozy feel and wearing long like I did in this post. It is so versatile and really keeps me warm! I found these high waisted Madewell jeans by accident, but I'm so glad I did. They are the perfect skinny and sit just right at the waist. I love have rich the black shade looks on these jeans as well. They meets the sweater so that I can easily tuck the front into the jeans, allowing whatever belt I'm wearing to peek out. Speaking of which, I've been living in this Gucci belt! It goes with absolutely everything and adds a simple luxe vibe to your look. Of course, can't forget about these killer boots! They bring pointed toe to a new level. I love the shape, smoothness of the leather and studding detail. Officially my new favorite ankle boots!

Shop any part of this look using the links above! This sweater is priced amazingly and be quick with the boots because there aren't very many sizes left. Happy shopping and let me know what you thought about this look on my Instagram or in the comments below!

Cashmere Bomber Jacket + Simple Lace Cami

Claudia Di Capua

Top: Free People and here / Jacket: Della Ciana and here / Jeans: Asos and here Bag: Shiraleah / Sunglasses: Dior / Heels: Steve Madden

The Look

Funny story about this look. I was in my parents bedroom during Thanksgiving break and I spotted this bomber jacket in on of my Dad's suitcases that he takes on work trips. I quickly pulled it out of the luggage to claim it as my own! Feeling like I hit the jackpot, I wore it all break! I love that it is a cashmere wool blend because not only is the texture smooth and soft, but it actually keeps me warm! It is a light and easy bomber jacket, but don't let that fool you. It does the job when it comes to heat insulation. I layered that over my new Free People lace cami to break up my otherwise all black look. This top is so flowy and it is just what I wanted! The lace is unattached from the black cami, so it adds some variety to the usual lace trim (although I do love that style as well). Moving down to one of my go-to pairs of jeans. These Asos ripped, skinny fit jeans are perfect for everyday use and going out. They are so versatile in a casual settings plus they look great with belts. I definitely recommend. Guys, Hautelook is a hidden gem! I find some amazing deals and amazing items like my Shiraleah crossbody bag. I neded a new one and just happened to stumble on it while browsing through Hautelook. It is great quality and the inside is spacious as it has a double sided compartment.
