Babes Against Bullsh*t Jacket + Wrap Skirt

Claudia Di Capua

T-Shirt: J. CrewJacket: Understated Leather via RevolveSkirt: Topshop (very similar here) / Boots: Public DesireSunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

It’s the start of a new week, so I thought a slightly motivational post would be fitting. With all of the recent women’s initiatives that have taken the world, but especially the U.S. by storm, it only seemed appropriate to show my support using my mode of creativity —clothing. I wanted this ‘Babes Against Bullshit’ Understated Leather denim jacket last summer, but it wasn’t until a few months ago that I found it on sale! I was so happy to have snagged it. QUICK TIP: if you love something, but aren’t ready to pay the price, remove it from your cart and add it to your (what is this called). This has worked well for me on sites like Revolve because this section lives right below your cart, so you can always see when they have adjusted an item to a lower price!

I’m obsessed with cool patchwork and love how the ‘Babes Against Bullshit’ has a slightly western feel to it. The light wash and cropped, raw edge denim makes this jacket a perfect piece for summer! I linked this jacket along with another similar version above!

This asymmetric wrap skirt has been so useful in the almost two years that I’ve had it. It transitions so well from day to night and has a super cool balanced, but off-balanced look. The check print is super on trend and the belt adds some visual depth and interest. For a warm spring day, a simple t-shirt is all you need. It’s fits so comfortably underneath a denim jacket!

I paired this look with my white stiletto Public Desire boots (which are weirdly hard to come by in this style anymore), rounding off the subtle space cowgirl look I had going. While I could have gone with jeans, it was too perfect of an opportunity to wear this skirt. Always test out all of your theories! I’ll save the denim on denim for another day!

Repurposing Summer Pieces for Fall Layers

Claudia Di Capua

Sweater: Della Ciana Cashmere (Similar here) / Dress: Rails LA via RevolveScarf: Urban OutfittersBoots: AsosBag: Haute Look (Very similar here) / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

One of my favorite styles this season happens to be the layered skirt/dress. This is where an oversized sweater and accessories layers on top of a flowy dress or skirt. I got this dress in the summer as you may remember I wore it in Greece (check out that post here)! This layering technique is an easy way to extend its seasonal shelf life. I wore a pair of warm socks and a quality cashmere sweater to keep me warm since my legs were out. I was totally fine and comfortable despite the windy day! Throwing on a scarf helped too! It's super important to wear quality jackets/sweaters when doing this to compensate for heat loss since your legs are exposed.

I was thinking about how many sweaters and dresses I currently have and found that I have an endless supply of this look in various lengths, shapes and colors. Take a look in your closet and you probably have all of the pieces to pull a look like this together as well! I'm excited to try this look using cooler colors like grey and blue with a mid length dress and combat boots once it gets a little colder.

Pointed toe shoes are a must right now! I'm in love with these ones from Asos. Quick Tip: if the ankle of the shoe isn't very fitted, you can give the illusion of a closer fit by wearing taller socks like I am in the photos. These boots are so useable and go with everything! I have found the Asos and Nordstrom have the best styles for the best prices!

Greece Diary: Cropped Blouse + Linen Pants

Claudia Di Capua

Top: Majorelle via Revolve Pants: Free PeopleHeels: Public DesireSunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

While off the shoulder is all the rage right now, I wanted to find a top that embodied this style with variation. For example, this Majorelle crop has raw edges throughout the entire top and ties in the front. I love these little details! The top is perfect for vacation or any summer events you may have going on. It is extremely comfortable and runs pretty true to size (I’m wearing a size medium). This color is everything to me as blue is my favorite color! I really went all out with the baby blues on this trip, but this top also comes in red.

I paired the crop top with a pair of high waisted, linen Free People pants in white. What could get more greek vacation than white linen?! They are so useful to have during the summer, so I highly recommend snatching a pair. I love how the waist edge mirrors the raw edge of the blouse. They both have that bunched together look that is cinched in with a belt, or in the shirt’s case, elastic.

To dress it up, I added a simple pair of lace-up heels by Public Desire. This online store has the best prices on chic and trendy shoes that I have ever seen! They have everything from lace-ups to sock boots and even over the knee boots. Definitely worth taking a look for your summer shoes needs, especially if you’re not looking to break the bank. This light grey color is perfectly neutral and goes with just about everything!

Finally, I stuck with my go-to accessories including my hexagonal Ray-Bans and Livewell Design gold necklace. I was happy that I didn’t have to go crazy selecting accessories on this trip. All you need are a few of your favorite items and you are good to go!
