Belted Wrap Dress + Leather Jacket

Claudia Di Capua

Jacket: Mango (Very Similar Here & Below) / Dress: Zara (Similar Here and Below) / Boots: Alexander WangSunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

It’s approaching the last few weeks that I can get away with wearing a leather jacket and not feel like I’m melting! This started Mango jacket has been one of my favorites so I got it! I love the shape, the texture and of course, the star details. If you’ve read any of my previous posts, you probably already know that I’m obsessed with stars. Although this exact version is no longer available, I linked a bunch of super similar versions below! I included a range of prices, so there’s something for everyone! Having a leather jacket with a subtle detail like these stars can really make a jacket. A plain jacket would be great as well, but this starred version gives it that extra uniqueness. There’s a special place in my heart for this one!

Now moving onto the dress. I encourage you all to go through your closet during this seasonal transition! I found this dress hiding in my closet, tags still on and never worn. You never know what you’ll find in the depths of your closet! I found this wrap dress at Zara a little while back thinking it would be great for a vacation or dinner. I wore it to none of the above (haha) and gave it its first debut as the feature of an edgy NYC look. It’s super comfortable and one of those pieces that I know will come in handy time and time again. Can’t go wrong with a little black dress!

Finally, we come to my FAVORITE boots of all time. Alexander Wang nailed these boots with everything from the smooth, structured leather to the silver stud piping. The platform is just high enough to give it that edgy punk look, but low enough to not be in your face. I’m truly obsessed with the design and know that I’ll find a reason to wear them no matter how hot the summer is or how cold the winter is! I’m getting slightly tanner, so gold accents like these Ray Bans will be seen more often. I love how the gold pops against my skin and gives off a warm and sparkly look.

The Look

I've had each of these pieces for a while, but never wore them together. The unforseen, FREEZING whether that has just hit New York is definitely calling for a chunky jacket like this one. I love the overstated collar and olive color. It matches so easily with the rest of my monochrome look. Black has always been sleek, so I chose to go with that. I broke it up with my McQueen skull scarf. I always feel like this scarf adds so much attitude and personality to a look for some reason. The Look

Getting back to the basics with a sleek mini slip dress. This style is making a comeback as street style stars all over the world have put their own spin on this simple little black dress. Whether it's worn with a shirt, underneath a few layers, or on its own, a slip dress in any color is a minimalists dream! Not to mention, a dress like this can be edged up by finding it in different lengths, layering, or finding one with an elegant lace trim. It is perfect for everyday use and look great with a pair of sneakers or dressed up with a pair of heels and chic jewelry. I wanted to combine my minimal style with a little bit of edge, so I was so excited when my blue velvet boots came in the mail just on time for the shoot! I can't wait to show you the many ways I am going to style these boots this fall! They are the perfect shade of navy and have an amazing sheen when the lights hit them. I decided to opt out when it came to layering the dress with a shirt, and just got down to the bare minimum by throwing on my favorite leather jacket and a cool new choker that I got from Anarchy Street.
