The Denim Jumpsuit I'm Bringing With Me Into Fall

Claudia Di Capua

Jumpsuit: Reformation / Belt: Gucci / Large Pendant Necklace: Maje / Heels: Stuart Weitzman / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

I know the weather is starting to get a little more sporadic, but I wanted to get one last warm weather look in. It’s worth noting that this jumpsuit will be joining me as I saunter into fall because it looks great layered over a fitted top as well. I love a piece that I can use for multiple seasons!

I went into Reformation looking to return a pair of jeans, but inevitably ended up exchanging them for something else (this jumpsuit). I’m very happy I did, because the denim is so soft and is quite flexible. The fact that it feels that way while also looking structured and shapes is amazing. The waist really pulls me in and the vertical zipper helps to give my short torso some length!I can’t wait to wear this with a sleeveless mock neck top, black leather jacket and heeled ankle boots (I haven’t thought about this at all).

Accessories like the the Gucci belt gives this already vintage looking jumpsuit a kick back to the 70’s. I love I how it pulls the waist in and adds a pop of gold. Not to mention, It helps to bring a bit of focus to the Gold Zodiac Maje necklace I found in Barcelona along with the smaller pendant. A simple Stuart Weitzman block heeled sandal was added to keep it simple and classic. These shoes will literally never get old.

Striped Denim + Retro Accessories

Claudia Di Capua

Top: Madewell / Jeans: ReformationHeels: Public Desire (Similar here) / Scarf: HermèsBag: Express (Similar here) / Sunglasses: Asos

The Look

It has been a minute! I've been so wrapped up in getting my travel posts up that I put a lot of the lookbook posts on the back burner this summer. While I included my looks and links to them in those travel posts, it's still nice to get back to my roots of style posts and how/why I put them together. Marijn and I tested out a new camera for these shots and couldn't be more pleased! September will be a whole new animal for us.

Now, back to the look. I've been experimenting a lot with different denim style, so these striped and structured reformation spoke to me. I love the cut and almost boxiness of them. Not to mention, they suck you is in all the right places. Seriously, you can actually feel the material tightening up around the upper thigh area and waist. I find this too be super flattering, but at ties a tad uncomfortable. Nothing I can't deal with for how great your legs look when wearing them! The vertical stripes give your legs that elongated look, especially when worn with heels!

With the jeans as the focus of the look, I went very comfortable and easy breezy for the rest of the look. A simple white t-shirt should always be on hand for moments like these. As you can, it complements the heels nicely, but this look is just as easily worn with sneakers. My sheer orange sunnies (found on Asos) and hairstyle give the entire look a very retro vibe. I love how th eorange tint of the lenses works so well with the warm tones of the Hermès scarf. Speaking of which, wrapping scarves around handbag handles has to be one of my new favorite thing to do with accessories!

Summer Weekend in Anthro & Current/Elliott

Claudia Di Capua

Top: Anthropologie (Similar here & below) / Jeans: Current/Elliott via HautelookJacket: BagatelleEarrings: & Other Stories Sneakers: Steve Madden (Similar here) / Bag: Diane von Furstenberg Sunglasses: Ray Ban

The Look

This warm weather has been the sole inspiration for looks on the perfect weekends we have been having here in NY! Flowy ruffles are the best in light, breezy weather and add a romantic and delicate feel to things like a rugged boyfriend jean. I found this Anthropologie top last spring, but luckily they have come out with a few new versions along with a few other vendors (shop them above)! Ruffles are one of those styles that did not die last summer and will for sure be around this season.

I paired this easy going top with a new pair of Current/Elliot jeans that I found on Hautelook. If you don't already shop on Hautelook, you NEED to! Originally priced at around $275, I snagged these babies for about $80 on sale, and now they've gone down even more to just over $50! Get your hands on them while you can, people! They are made of such high quality denim and I love this style of boyfriend jeans. The top is a bit more fitted from the waist to just above the knee where it falls into a structured, yet looser fit. The tears are just enough for my liking and the overall fit is super comfortable! I can't say enough good things about Current/Elliott denim and Hautelook. They will both have my business for a long time!

This shoot was a bit impromptu as Marijn & I were just walking around the city with Milo (my dog), but those are the best and easiest kind, right!? I accessorized with a cute DVF mini crossbody bag that doubles as a clutch and added my favorite silver hoops from & Other Stories and sunnies from Ray-Ban.
