Belted Wrap Dress + Leather Jacket

Claudia Di Capua

Jacket: Mango (Very Similar Here & Below) / Dress: Zara (Similar Here and Below) / Boots: Alexander WangSunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

It’s approaching the last few weeks that I can get away with wearing a leather jacket and not feel like I’m melting! This started Mango jacket has been one of my favorites so I got it! I love the shape, the texture and of course, the star details. If you’ve read any of my previous posts, you probably already know that I’m obsessed with stars. Although this exact version is no longer available, I linked a bunch of super similar versions below! I included a range of prices, so there’s something for everyone! Having a leather jacket with a subtle detail like these stars can really make a jacket. A plain jacket would be great as well, but this starred version gives it that extra uniqueness. There’s a special place in my heart for this one!

Now moving onto the dress. I encourage you all to go through your closet during this seasonal transition! I found this dress hiding in my closet, tags still on and never worn. You never know what you’ll find in the depths of your closet! I found this wrap dress at Zara a little while back thinking it would be great for a vacation or dinner. I wore it to none of the above (haha) and gave it its first debut as the feature of an edgy NYC look. It’s super comfortable and one of those pieces that I know will come in handy time and time again. Can’t go wrong with a little black dress!

Finally, we come to my FAVORITE boots of all time. Alexander Wang nailed these boots with everything from the smooth, structured leather to the silver stud piping. The platform is just high enough to give it that edgy punk look, but low enough to not be in your face. I’m truly obsessed with the design and know that I’ll find a reason to wear them no matter how hot the summer is or how cold the winter is! I’m getting slightly tanner, so gold accents like these Ray Bans will be seen more often. I love how the gold pops against my skin and gives off a warm and sparkly look.

Repurposing Summer Pieces for Fall Layers

Claudia Di Capua

Sweater: Della Ciana Cashmere (Similar here) / Dress: Rails LA via RevolveScarf: Urban OutfittersBoots: AsosBag: Haute Look (Very similar here) / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

One of my favorite styles this season happens to be the layered skirt/dress. This is where an oversized sweater and accessories layers on top of a flowy dress or skirt. I got this dress in the summer as you may remember I wore it in Greece (check out that post here)! This layering technique is an easy way to extend its seasonal shelf life. I wore a pair of warm socks and a quality cashmere sweater to keep me warm since my legs were out. I was totally fine and comfortable despite the windy day! Throwing on a scarf helped too! It's super important to wear quality jackets/sweaters when doing this to compensate for heat loss since your legs are exposed.

I was thinking about how many sweaters and dresses I currently have and found that I have an endless supply of this look in various lengths, shapes and colors. Take a look in your closet and you probably have all of the pieces to pull a look like this together as well! I'm excited to try this look using cooler colors like grey and blue with a mid length dress and combat boots once it gets a little colder.

Pointed toe shoes are a must right now! I'm in love with these ones from Asos. Quick Tip: if the ankle of the shoe isn't very fitted, you can give the illusion of a closer fit by wearing taller socks like I am in the photos. These boots are so useable and go with everything! I have found the Asos and Nordstrom have the best styles for the best prices!

Weekend Casual + Last Days of Layering

The Look

I was running out of time to pst about this faux fur stole/scarf! The weather has been getting so randomly warm, so 60-70 degree weather doesn't really call for winter layers. Anyhow, no temperature is going to ruin my outfit, so I went ahead and posted this look before actual spring hits us! I love this faux fur scarf because it isn't attached to my jacket, so I can remove it whenever. It has somewhat of a navy tint, which gives it a super rich, and luxe look. It looks great with a simple leather jacket right beneath it!

I paired this with a pair of blue AG skinny jeans and block heel boots. This outfit is full of attitude and I kind of love it. This look is the perfect casual look for the weekend and has a "model off duty vibe." You can't go wrong with basics, especially when styling a simple look, so I layered with really wearable and comfortable long sleeve t-shirt from J.Crew. I added some accent detail with the silver belt buckle and chain strap handbag.
