Amsterdam Leopard Moment

Claudia Di Capua

It has definitely been a minute since I last posted, but I wanted to hop back on here and share one of my favorite looks from my last trip to Holland! I recently locked down a lot of these pieces and will continue to share different ways of styling them.

Let’s start with the leopard print bottoms. I’ve had my eye on these Reformation beauties since the the summer of 2018, but of course they were always sold out! I finally snagged a pair about a month ago and I loved them so much that I bought the red cobra version as well! The ultra high waist and fit to small flare high ankle gives of a 60s vibe, which I love. I love combining these pants with either a super fitted top or super loose top. In this case I went with a sheer, black and fitted turtleneck from Aritzia-my favorite everyday turtleneck to date! It’s soft and the perfect amount of sheer. The pants come high enough up on the waist to add that slimming silhouette when paired with a fitted top.

To finish off this look, I went for edgier details and accessories. Starting with the leather jacket with faux fur collar. The fur makes the jacket little winterier and keeps me warmer. Got this jacket for such a steal on Mango! My Laval fanny pack is truly the Mary Poppins bag. I can fit so much inside without it being overwhelming. I wear it like a crossbody for that added street style look. Putting this look slightly over the top in a good way are my favorite leather boots by Alexander Wang. I got them last Fall and have never looked back! They have such a cool look while also remaining functional. Hard to find, especially with designer shoes! The soles are vibram, which are great for outdoor and more rugged use.

Belted Wrap Dress + Leather Jacket

Claudia Di Capua

Jacket: Mango (Very Similar Here & Below) / Dress: Zara (Similar Here and Below) / Boots: Alexander WangSunglasses: Ray-Ban

The Look

It’s approaching the last few weeks that I can get away with wearing a leather jacket and not feel like I’m melting! This started Mango jacket has been one of my favorites so I got it! I love the shape, the texture and of course, the star details. If you’ve read any of my previous posts, you probably already know that I’m obsessed with stars. Although this exact version is no longer available, I linked a bunch of super similar versions below! I included a range of prices, so there’s something for everyone! Having a leather jacket with a subtle detail like these stars can really make a jacket. A plain jacket would be great as well, but this starred version gives it that extra uniqueness. There’s a special place in my heart for this one!

Now moving onto the dress. I encourage you all to go through your closet during this seasonal transition! I found this dress hiding in my closet, tags still on and never worn. You never know what you’ll find in the depths of your closet! I found this wrap dress at Zara a little while back thinking it would be great for a vacation or dinner. I wore it to none of the above (haha) and gave it its first debut as the feature of an edgy NYC look. It’s super comfortable and one of those pieces that I know will come in handy time and time again. Can’t go wrong with a little black dress!

Finally, we come to my FAVORITE boots of all time. Alexander Wang nailed these boots with everything from the smooth, structured leather to the silver stud piping. The platform is just high enough to give it that edgy punk look, but low enough to not be in your face. I’m truly obsessed with the design and know that I’ll find a reason to wear them no matter how hot the summer is or how cold the winter is! I’m getting slightly tanner, so gold accents like these Ray Bans will be seen more often. I love how the gold pops against my skin and gives off a warm and sparkly look.

Floral Embroidered Leather Jacket

Claudia Di Capua

T-Shirt: H&M Jacket: Blank NYCJeans: MadewellSneakers: Steve MaddenBelt: HauteLookChokers: H&MSunglasses: Ray-Ban

I’ve really been stocking up on leather jackets this year, as you can see from my various posts wearing them (Check out star leather jacket here). But, I love finding leather jackets that have their own personality. Each one has a unique design, which I can appreciate. The same, but different..right?! Anyhow, I was scouring the internet for cool embroidered jackets for a while and came across one that was similar to this, but about $1,000 out of my budget (haha). So of course, I searched, found and purchased this very similar version by Blank NYC! I couldn’t get enough of the floral embroidery that wraps around the entire jacket, but another huge selling point for me was the studding that embellishes the back and sleeves of the jacket. The studs add an edginess that is balanced out with the floral embroidery. Overall, I highly recommend this jacket and you get a whole lot of style for the price!

To keep the effortless edge going I went for a layered silver jewelry situation, which is a combination of both high end and affordable pieces. I found the chokers at H&M for about $6, so I naturally bought two. Some of the longer pieces were gifts and have a bit more sentimental value.

I tried to make it so that the look would still work if I needed to take off my jacket, so a simple tee, skinny jeans and a western double buckle belt did the trick! While it is super casual, I was able to amp it up with the jewelry and platform slip on sneakers. It’s all about how you accessorize! Plus, I didn’t want to go crazy when I the real statement piece was the jacket. Let me know your thoughts on this look in the comments! Are you as obsessed with leather jackets as I am?
