The Look

Seeing all of the warm fall colors on trees and falling leaves inspired me to post a look featuring a warmer color palette. Believe it or not, I do wear warmer tones, but not as often in blog posts, which is why I'm excited to share this look! You are probably use to me wearing this style of biker jacket, but the dark tan is likely a surprise. I love how the suede material gives the jacket a matte look. The zipper color falls somewhere between a silver and gold allowing it to really stand out against the suede. I found this gem on sale at Aritzia (of course). They always have such perfect basic pieces that can be worn a million ways.

Now, here comes the element of surprise. The lace detailed short sleeve blouse that I got last holiday season has now been repurposed in my closet as a layering piece. I've worn this top with a cami underneath or a bralette like the one pictures. I prefer to wear this top with high waisted jeans because of how sheer the center of the top is.

While throwing on a pair of heels or booties could easily give this look a nightlife feel, I went with comfier Nike sneakers for a Saturday in NYC. I love combining slightly dressed up looks with super casual sneakers. It brings the look back down to ground level and makes your entire closet instantly more wearable!

Modern go-go

Claudia Di Capua

Outfit information and tips are located at the bottom of this post!

Sweater: H&MSkirt: TopshopSuede Boots: Guess (very similar here) / Bag: H&M (very similar here) / Pinky Ring: Anarchy StreetLarger Ring: TJ Max / Watch: Anne Klein

The Look:

Channeling my inner go-go girl! Of course, with a modern twist. Fitted Suede over the knee boots have been all the rage since last fall, so I broke mine out for this look and the dropping temperature. The height of these boots gives skirts a longer window of wear time meaning you won't get as cold as you would if your legs were completely exposed. They keep you warmer, ladies, so rock those skirts! I love this Topshop skirt for a few reasons. One being the front zipper. It's a cool detail and gives the skirt some edge. I also love that the zipper is noticeably silver (my favorite metal!). If you look at some of the closeup pictures, you can see that there is some texture. It's really the little things that win me over and that also make your look unique. I went pretty simple with accessories with this mini H&M cross body bag and minimal rings and necklace. The silver detailing is constant throughout the whole look whether it be the rivets at the ankle of my boots, my jewelry, or the closure on my bag. One of my new obsessions is this H&M sweater. I love it so much that I went and bought another one! It's thin enough for fall weather, but the material is perfect for layering. Other than this look, I like to wear the sweater under a cool moto styled vest. Let me know how your thoughts on this look in the comments! P.S. Happy Birthday to my sister, she turns 19 today!

If I was to do it differently:

I'm a sucker for a leather jacket, so I through one into my alternative picks. Backpacks exist to make life easier and now they have fashionable versions, so I'm all over that! Pointed toe ankle boots make a subtle statement and are great for so many different looks. Click a picture to see where to buy each item!

Spring Picks

Claudia Di Capua

My Spring picks and wear to buy them are listed at the bottom of the post!

1. Basic thin-strap tank: Zara

This season is all about the basics! I love this faux suede Zara version because it's so soft and neutral. These work great in pastel colors with just about anything! I'll probably wear mine with a white blazer!

2. Chino Shorts: J. Crew

If you haven't already, get yourself a pair of J.Crew chino shorts! They come in all different lengths and colors, so they are extremely wearable and great for everyday use. I think I have them in 10 colors at this point.

3. Straw Fedora: H&M

I haven't always been a hat person, but I love this H&M fedora for Spring! It's light and casual and has enhanced every outfit I've worn it with so far! Great for Summer too!

4. Moccasins: Stuart Weitzman

Best walking shoes if I've ever seem them! This snake textured slip ons are easy and match with everything. Can't wear flip-flops everywhere guys.

5. Cosmetics: Mario Badescu spray / Bare Minerals eye shadow / Sugar Rose lip treatment / Benefit mascara / Maybelline foundation

I'm going to have to emphasize on the rose water Mario Badescu spray and Sugar Rose lip stain. This spray makes your skin so soft and smell great. I love the lip stain because it adds a a more saturated look to the lip..still light for warm weather!

6. Accessories: Gigi clutch / Ray-ban aviators

Make your look pop with some color and snake textured accessories. This Gigi clutch matches the SW snake texture on the shoes. Aviators always complete a look..no questions asked.

7. Simple Ring and Stud Earrings: Banana Republic

It's great to have simple jewelry to turn to for everyday use. I love these sparkley studs and ring because they match and have a unique and casual to them. What more could I ask for!
