Repurposing Summer Pieces for Fall Layers

The Look

One of my favorite styles this season happens to be the layered skirt/dress. This is where an oversized sweater and accessories layers on top of a flowy dress or skirt. I got this dress in the summer as you may remember I wore it in Greece (check out that post here)! This layering technique is an easy way to extend its seasonal shelf life. I wore a pair of warm socks and a quality cashmere sweater to keep me warm since my legs were out. I was totally fine and comfortable despite the windy day! Throwing on a scarf helped too! It's super important to wear quality jackets/sweaters when doing this to compensate for heat loss since your legs are exposed.

I was thinking about how many sweaters and dresses I currently have and found that I have an endless supply of this look in various lengths, shapes and colors. Take a look in your closet and you probably have all of the pieces to pull a look like this together as well! I'm excited to try this look using cooler colors like grey and blue with a mid length dress and combat boots once it gets a little colder.

Pointed toe shoes are a must right now! I'm in love with these ones from Asos. Quick Tip: if the ankle of the shoe isn't very fitted, you can give the illusion of a closer fit by wearing taller socks like I am in the photos. These boots are so useable and go with everything! I have found the Asos and Nordstrom have the best styles for the best prices!

Date Night

Claudia Di Capua

Outfit information and tips are located at the bottom of this post! Happy Halloween!

Top: Hartford France (very similar here) / Bottoms: Zara  / Bag: London Fog Heels: Steve MaddenBracelet: Kate Spade (similar here) / Necklace: Brandy Melville (similar here) / Earrings: Ralph Lauren

As promised, here is last Saturday's date night look! I wore this to Malibu Grill, which was a fantastic choice. Nothing is more classic to me than a clean black and white outfit especially for an event or a night out. This made it easy to add unique and bold accessories to the look. Pumps do a great job of elongating your legs, and these ones in particular are easy to walk in as well! Add a pop of color to a neutral look just like this bold red London Fog tote does. It ensures that your simple and classic look won't be boring! But of course, I know you all think that the best accessory in this look is my foam mustache from my chai tea latte!

Tell me You Leather Me

Outfit information is located at the bottom of this post and tips/explanations are located between some or all pictures!

Tell me you love me?! No, tell me you leather me! I'm lovin' these deep green tones that are prominent and trending this Fall! Leather details are also making their mark on shirts, jackets, and of course our shoes. H&M has been a great go-to for me this season when I'm looking for a chic and light Fall jacket!

This detail shot shows the quality material of this jacket. Besides the leather, the green fabric has a rich warm tone to it, which is why the gold accessories are a great compliment to it (including the sunglasses frame).

Perfect example of how you can mix the high end with the more affordable products. These Ralph Lauren earrings paired with this Brandy Melville necklace looks like they could have come from the same store. Both unique pieces that I love to add to my everyday looks!

Adding leather to a T-shirt is a sure way to make your look a little more chic! It's sleek and adds a spin to the "T" that we've all known and loved for forever. It's time for that something extra!
