Go Rogue With Coach

Claudia Di Capua

Top: MangoSkirt: Zara / Bag: CoachSunglasses: Urban OutfittersNecklaces: H&MSneakers: Steve Madden

The Collaboration

I've partnered with Coach to tell you all about a new beauty that is part of their new collection, aka the Rogue bag. I'm sharing why I love it, some cool features and why I styled it the way I did! It's so cool to me to be able to share with you an awesome bag from a company that I am so grateful to be working with! I can't wait to show you how this bag will step up your accessories game this season.

Coach has stepped up their game and bags like these are only amplifying my street style game. The versatility of the straps and the simple white color of this bag is going to have me coming back to this bag all spring and summer!

The Look

With a bag like this, I knew I needed to create a look that complements the lightness and springiness while still staying true to my personal style. That is how I came to but together this feminine and ruffled Mango blouse with the contradicting style of the Zara skirt. I love how they balance each other out! the skirt has a slight flare towards the bottom, which I think is so cute. But what really sold me on this skirt was the studded hem. I love little details like this! The blouse is light and airy, which is ideal for warm weather!

Let's talk about how the bag comes into play in this look. It's small to medium size makes it perfect for everyday use. I'm completely obsessed with the gold details and removable straps! I can sling it over my shoulder or hold it by the handles. Either way, the Rogue bag adds a modern touch to whatever I wear it with! The classic large zipper is a nice detail in addition to the huge amount of space this bag actually provides.

It was hard to choose accessories that didn't go with this bag! Again, the light color and fresh look made it so that I could wear it with basically any of my sunglasses and jewelry. The deep red/maroon handles and piping are a gorgeous addition to the bag and help to balance out the light and the dark, which similarly matches the theme of  my look.

Overall, I think it's safe to say that this sleek little bag is making moves on my spring wardrobe and I couldn't be happier!

Dressing Up A Simple T-Shirt With Chews Boutique

Claudia Di Capua

Top: Chews / Jeans: Levi's (also here) / Heels: Missguided (similar here) / Bag: MangoBelt: Gucci

The Collaboration

While I am collaborating with a new brand, I am happy to say that it is with a person I have worked with before! Remember my JQ Vancouver collab?! Well the owner started a new clothing company and it is awesome. I'm so excited to be showcasing one of Chews short sleeve tops. It is super soft and such a pretty nude shade. Also, there is a side not detail on the hem of the shirt, but I tucked in the shirt so it's a little hard to see (sorry)! JQ Vancouver was one of my first collaborations, so I am so happy and proud to be circling back to partner with their new business.

The Look

I can finally go outside in a short sleeve top and lace up heels! This Chews top is cool because I can wear it in a few different ways. The sleeves are a little long, so you can wear them dow or rolled up a few times like I did. I like the rolled look because it makes the top a little sportier and casual.

Because of the simplicity of the top and jeans, I opted for my standout Mango handbag and Gucci belt. I love how the gold embellishments on the bag and belt warm up the cool tones of the top and jeans. This bag is so cute and reminds me of one of the new Gucci bags. Also, I love patches, so this bag was a must have!

I want to talk about my hair and makeup for a second because I was pretty happy with how it turned out for this post. I'm a huge supporter of the half-up half-down look. Check out my photoshoot makeup routine here.

London Vibes: Romwe Patched Blazer

Claudia Di Capua

Blazer: Romwe / Blouse: Hartford (similar here and here) / Jeans: Levi's / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban / Bag: Express (also here) / Shoes: Kenneth Cole

THE LOOK

For this post, I have collaborated with Romwe to show you how I would style a patch covered blazer! I’m really excited to be working with them again (check out my last collab with them) and to try out a color that I normally stray away from, red. A lot of the patches have some red involved plus I threw a a red flower embroidered bag on top, so I’m going for it!

I was inspired by London streetwear, so I paired the blazer with a simple linen blouse, skinny jeans and velcro sneakers. The lengthy blazer style and patches scream London to me and I love how the embroidery on the bag strap complements the patches. I wore the bag messenger style to really show off the guitar strap detail and have it close enough to the patches. One of my favorite parts of this light jacket is the lining! The stripes are awesome, so I made sure to let it peek out at the cuffs. Unfortunately, this blazer is sold out, but I did a roundup of other patch options that Romwe has to offer!

I just bought these sunglasses for Marijn, aka bae, aka my photographer's birthday, but I loved them so much I had to borrow them for a post! They truly complete the Londoner vibe I was going for.

Move Your Lee: The Dream Jean

These jeans are just what this title sounds like! The Dream Jean has the movement of a jeggings, but the look, feel and quality of a real pair of jeans. While I was shooting this look, I was experimenting with a bunch of different angles and moving around a lot to get the right shot. Seriously, sitting criss cross apple sauce and everything. I forgot I was wearing jeans half the time!

These pants are so easy to move in and are great for those that want to feel stylish, but know they are going to be on the move all day. They look great with jeans and heels! I tried them on with a pair of pumps and found that they would look great going out to dinner or a little more dressed up. Personally, I love them for their casual vibe and are perfect for my everyday activities!

Felix Gray Blue Light Glasses

Claudia Di Capua

About Felix Gray

I always wore glasses as a kid and resented it for the longest time. In recent years, I have found myself wanting glasses again, not having a reason to, and not wanting to be that person that wears fake glasses! With all that being said, Felix Gray gave me an actual reason to wear glasses again, and it has nothing to do with prescription lenses. Let me introduce you to an enemy named blue light.

A high-energy light called blue light is emitted by all screens. Yes, that means your iPhone, iPad, tablet, desktop, laptop and TV! Because of blue light's impact on melatonin levels, this results in difficulty sleeping at night. Also, the high frequency of blue light can lead to eye strain, which can cause headaches and eye fatigue.

Why These Glasses Are Great

As a student who is always doing work on my computer, watching shows on my iPad, or constantly checking my phone, my eyes have had enough! While I don't where rx prescription lens glasses, Felix Gray was able to hook me up with a pair of their Nash glasses in black that are non-prescription and that only prevent blue light. I have noticed a reduction of pressure in my head after a long day of classes or blogging, which normally would have just lead to a headache! I am also falling asleep faster than before (let's face it, I fall asleep with Instagram on my phone being the last thing I see).

I love the sleek design of my glasses and how the cellulose acetate frame isn't too thick or overbearing, which by the way is super high quality and made in Varese, Italy! I debated between the circular or square shapes that Felix Gray offers, but finally decided that the square style suited my face bit better. They are chic and super minimal, which is right up my alley. The lenses also reduce glare! I finally get to wear glasses again and even though they aren't rx, they still serve an awesome purpose aside from looking cute with my outfits!

Shop all Felix Gray blue light glasses and prescription glasses here!

My Look

I've been very intrigued by denim on denim lately, so I figured why not try out a different look while also debuting myself in glasses!? In this look I am wearing Felix Gray's Nash glasses in black.

I just got this jacket on gilt.com and I love it! The edges are frayed for the most part and it has a real 90's feel to it. The sleeves are slightly oversized and the shape is slightly cropped. I'm V proud of this purchase!

An always favorite Levi's Wedgie fit along with a classic Hartford blouse felt like the perfect combo. I went light on the accessories to keep the focus on the glasses, although I do love this Gucci belt!

Last, but definitely not least, my blue velvet boots completed this look with a pop of color and texture.

Slouchy Knits With Shein

Claudia Di Capua

Sweater: SheIn / Scarf: Urban Outfitters / JeansMadewell / Belt: Gucci / Boots: Asos (also here) / Bag: Express / Sunglasses:Ray-Ban

THE LOOK

In collaboration with SheIn, I put together this look featuring one of their sweaters! *SIDE NOTE* Did you guys notice that the photos are a bit clearer?! Well, I got a new camera lens that has done wonders! I digress.

This cozy knit is perfect for breezy weather. I'm obsessed with the bell sleeves and soft material. It also reminds me of a Free People styled sweater, but at a very affordable price! I paired this slouchy knit with an even slouchier blanket scarf from Urban Outfitters. This scarf has saved my life in chilly weather. I love wrapping it around my neck for that oversized cozy feel and wearing long like I did in this post. It is so versatile and really keeps me warm! I found these high waisted Madewell jeans by accident, but I'm so glad I did. They are the perfect skinny and sit just right at the waist. I love have rich the black shade looks on these jeans as well. They meets the sweater so that I can easily tuck the front into the jeans, allowing whatever belt I'm wearing to peek out. Speaking of which, I've been living in this Gucci belt! It goes with absolutely everything and adds a simple luxe vibe to your look. Of course, can't forget about these killer boots! They bring pointed toe to a new level. I love the shape, smoothness of the leather and studding detail. Officially my new favorite ankle boots!

Shop any part of this look using the links above! This sweater is priced amazingly and be quick with the boots because there aren't very many sizes left. Happy shopping and let me know what you thought about this look on my Instagram or in the comments below!

JQ Vancouver Collaboration & Giveaway

Claudia Di Capua

It's GIVEAWAY time (again)! I've partnered up with JQ Vancouver for the second time to give one of you an amazing necklace of your choosing because of the great response we got from the last giveaway! Head over to my Instagram (@TheFashionAttraction) and JQ Vancouver's Instagram (@jqvancouver) later today for how to enter!

Silver Layered Heart Necklace

This is probably my favorite necklace from the whole collaboration! You may remember this necklace in gold from our original collab, so it can't come as that much of a surprise. It's so light and looks effortless. I find it is styled best with a lower v-neck neckline. It combines the cool lariat look with a layered lightness.

Double Bar Necklace

This is by far the most versatile necklace of the bunch! I wore this necklace as a choker, long, loose and even as a bracelet. It was perfect for all of those street style looks that needed to be spruced up with pretty jewelry!

Silver Triangle Necklace

Exchange the heart for a triangle and the 2 layers for one, and you have the silver triangle necklace! It's essentially more of a lariat and perfect if you are into the less is more/minimal aesthetic. I love this piece and honestly, it comes down to mood when I'm choosing between wearing this necklace vs. the layered heart necklace.

Gold Bar Necklace

The gold bar necklace is perfect against a contrasting shade like white or black. I wish I was a bit tanner in this picture, but the clothing you choose to pair with it definitely makes a difference! It's simple and elegant. If you aren't into the long necklaces, this is for you!

Rumba Time Watches // Soho Leather

Claudia Di Capua

Shop all Rumba Time watches at rumbatime.com and find my outfit information from this post under the lookbook tab!

Soho Leather:

This timepiece is as classic as it gets. The leather bands are a simple black that helps me to style this with many looks, but what really pops is the rose gold. Most people usually gravitate towards the yellow gold or silver look without even considering rose gold. This could be because maybe you don't have enough jewelry to match it. If you own yellow gold jewelry, you have something to wear with it! These two golds complement each other well.

Others Like it: Soho Suede

The watch comes in various textures and colors aside from my Soho leather version. The face of the watch is also either gold or silver on the suede versions while my leather watch is rose gold. I love how large the face of the watch is because it helps it to really stand out and catch the light.

How I Styled The Watch:

I wanted this look to be a bit edgier and to play around with textures, which is how I managed to put all of these different pieces together. No surprise that everything is black!

All Black Everything:

By wearing all black, (besides the fact that I love it), the rose gold of the watch was able to pop in contrast to the clothing.

The black band of the watch helped me to maintain that edgy look that I was going for. Also, because it is a leather band, the watch complemented my leather boots, zipper on the jacket and bag nicely. There was an obvious texture trend throughout the look, which is leather.

For a layered look, try adding a mix of yellow gold and rose gold jewelry!

Rumba Time Watches:

Rumba time is a watch company that offers a huge variety of styles. From the classic look to the unique. No matter which watch you choose, you'll be walking away with a keeper!

Some of my favorites include the watch I'm wearing also known as the Gramercy Mesh, the Soho Suede, and the Madison. I've linked all three below! I love how the Madison shows off a more classic side to the brand while the Gramercy Mesh can be worn more like a bracelet stacked with some of your favorite bracelets. The Soho Suede is also on the more classic side, but Rumba Time changed it up by adding a suede band. I'm showing you silver pieces because it's my favorite, but the watches all come in a variety of metals and colors!

The Madison

Gramercy Mesh

Gramercy Mesh

DSC02558.jpg

My Watch:

The Gramercy Mesh watch is great because of it's adjustable links. I have a smaller wrist so being able to remove a few links helps me to keep the watch from sliding up and down my arm. Another great thing about this style is that band is very unique compared to what we usually see. This detail makes the watch more than a watch. It's also a focal piece of jewelry. It looks really sleek and almost architectural in it's shape.

How To Style It: Casual Chic

Casual can still be well put together. To give a simpler look a little more oomph, add some statement jewelry pieces. For this look, I added the Gramercy Mesh watch in addition to another one of my go-to silver bangles!

DSC02546.jpg

How To Style It: Dressy

I love seeing watches with dressy looks! I'm seeing it more and more and this particular style will complement a dressier ensemble well. Try pairing it with your "fancy" jewelry and a chic party look.

Here is a suggestion of how you could pair your Rumba Time watch on a dressier occasion. Stack the watch and bracelets for a more fancy feel!

Claudia Di Capua

Use my Ambassador code "clau20" to get 20% off your next Mirina Collections purchase! Make use of it for gift giving this holiday season!

Mirina Collections:

Mirina Collections is known for their handmade statement jewelry. They go by the name of Famous Necklaces. To me, each piece takes on a different personality. Their are larger necklaces as well as less ornate pieces. My necklace also known as the 'Andy' definitely fits my style of dressing. It isn't too loud, but it is for sure noticeable. I am happy to be an ambassador for them because they have a skill in creating these amazingly detailed necklaces!

Different Ways To Wear The Andy

This necklace obviously speaks for itself, but how can you style it for different occasions? For this look, I went with a more casual chic type of style. In my next collar post, I will show you how to dress it up for an event (which is the easier of the two)!

In order to incorporate such an eye-catching piece into you're daily look, follow a few simple steps to ensure that you nail it! These steps can apply to any statement item that you may want to wear.

Steps:

Step 1: Select statement item. You will build your look around this, so it's important to do this first.

Step 2: Simplicity over busyness. You're statement piece is already making a statement! You can enhance this by choosing classic and simple clothing items so that your look doesn't become overworked.

Step 3: Solids over prints. You can work with colors, but try to stay away from prints when wearing a very noticeable statement necklace. People won't know where to look! Looking put together is always welcome.

YMI Fall OOTD

Claudia Di Capua

As part of YMI Jeans fall campaign, bloggers like me helped share our OOTD featuring YMI items! See all of their jeans at ymijeans.com

What it's about:

We always try to stick with what we know. Whether it's your usual at Starbucks or jean brands,  we all have our favorites! This campaign helped me realize that I should always be experimenting with style. This was my first time wearing YMI and I am so happy that I did!

The Fit:

The stretch in these jeans helps to create room if you are between sizes. I find that this is the case  for me a lot of the time when shopping for denim, so having the tightness and give helped mold them to my exact shape. Also, YMI focuses a lot on enhancing the butt area. The wash, materials, and tension in certain areas helps to enhance different features! I'm always looking for jeans that don't fall down when I sit down. I'm not a huge fan of super low-rise jeans, so this YMI version nailed it with this mid-rise fit. When it starts getting cooler and I start wearing boots, jeans with too much stretch cause the knee area to look baggy. My YMI jeans are like a second skin and have formed to my ever curve..even in the knee area! Sometimes, stretch jeans can have the effect of looking too tight even though they are the right size. I have no idea how they did it, but YMI eliminates this issue. I'm guessing it's because there is a great balance between the elasticity and the material quality. Whatever it is, it's working!

The Wash:

I love the wash of these jeans because they are not too dark and not too light. Perfect for dressing them up as well as down. The fade lines on the front help to make them look distressed, but in a more classic way than the more casual torn jean. I'm not a huge fan of too much distress or crease lines on my denim, so the subtly placed lines on this YMI pair fit my criteria perfectly!

Daily use:

My YMI jeans are the new go-tos! I can go to class with a pair of slide-on shoes or go out with a pair of heels in the same jeans. The versatility in the jeans in more ways than just the stretch makes them a staple item for your wardrobe. Some of my denim is hard to wear with limited stretch, but are aesthetically nice. YMI brings both aesthetics and function to their jeans. The most active person can move around comfortably just as the most stylish person can work the same pair! These are definitely a pair of jeans that will last me a long time and be used to the max. I have a feeling it's going to become more of a when in doubt, chose YMI sort of situation.

I found JQ Vancouver, an amazing jewelry company via social media. After looking through the jewelry that the company offered, I knew I wanted to try to collab with them! The jewelry is characterized by timeless yet contemporary pieces, which is right up my alley. All of the pieces are handmade, so they are that much more special to wear. The jewelry is creative and fresh making it a great addition to any look. Lariat necklaces are great for bringing out the details of a neckline, but JQ Vancouver takes it a step further by adding a simple and minimal layer. This brings the traditional lariat to the next level in my opinion!

I asked the owner, Chelsey Andrews about the idea behind this layered lariat necklace (known as the heart necklace on her website) and her description matched exactly how I perceived it. When a company can make that big of an impression on the perception of their product before they tell you exactly what they're about is truly impressive! I feel that Andrews's inspiration for the piece was a true representation of what I look for when I shop for clothing or jewelry, which is another reason that I knew I wanted to work with her and her company!

"The idea of the Layered Gold Heart Necklace came from loving both ideas of the trendy layered necklace and the Lariat or Y Necklace look. JQ Vancouver is all about being stylish and minimal, so a layered look that means you only have to wear one necklace was the perfect combination. While creating the layered look, I wanted a very tiny pendant to hold down the chain and while sampling just the chain design, it had dropped behind my shirt and that gave me the idea to put a heart on the end as it was close to mine."

This JQ Vancouver necklace design inspired me to create a look that represented the same style. I went for a layered look that was stylish and minimal. By wearing neutral tones, the necklace really became the focal point of this look as it very well should be! When I received this heart necklace in the mail, I was amazed at the quality and simplicity of the piece. It is currently my favorite necklace to wear! The jewelry is powerful enough to inspire, which I think is extremely special and admirable.
