#OOTD: White Monochrome + Corduroy Jacket

Claudia Di Capua

Top: J. Crew / Skirt: A&F / Jacket: Systemaction / Bag: Laval / Sneakers: Superga / Sunglasses: Subdued / Socks: Topshop

Ok, so this look isn’t quite an OOTD, but it’s from last weekend, so close enough! I wore this to a Fashion Week event and found myself taking pictures in the area for a while after. If you haven’t been to the Tictail market or checked out JW Pei, you should because they are awesome. Not to mention, Tictail is in such a cute area on the east side.

A tad more street style since we are back in New York for a while, I paired an all white look with charcoal colored accessories. I found this amazing corduroy jacket from Systemaction while I was in Barcelona and I am obsessed! It helps to make the glittery ankle socks pop against my white, platform Supergas (also found while in Barcelona).

Believe it or not, this skirt is from Abercrombie & Fitch. Before you hate me, check out there new stuff! Ever since they changed management, so has their style. You’ll find things like distressed denim, black leather jackets and more cute items WITHOUT the moose logo or infamous back pocket stitching.

Finally, I’m OBSESSED with my new Laval fanny pack. Wearing it around my chest is my preference, but it looks great around the hips as well. It’s such a great staple street style item and is a well priced alternative to the more expensive Off-White version.

#OOTD: Summer Whites

Claudia Di Capua

The Look

T-shirt, skirt and sneakers are the uniform for this summer! It's so easy to mix and match feminine and sporty items. A light t-shirt keeps the look casual and comfy while a summer skirt helps to dress it up and add that seasonal touch. I've had this Topshop skirt for years now and it always makes it back into my closet. It's super simple making the zipper the main focal point.

Aside from my blue jean jacket, I'm obsessed with an all white look in warmer weather. There is the consistent black detailing across the top and the skirt seeing as the print in black and the zipper has black piping. I've linked a bunch of similar t-shirts and skirts above!

Light Camo Jacket + Levi's

Claudia Di Capua

The Look

I've said it once and I'll say it again: Hautelook is the realest in the game! If you haven't shopped with them, you are truly missing out. I scored this camo Sincerely Jules top that normally goes for $150, for just $50. My only complaint is that the website feeds my impulse buying habit (haha). What I love about this jacket is that it fits so true to size. I bought it in a size medium and it couldn't fit more perfectly. Highly recommend for breezy summer days as it is light and easy to throw on.

Feeding off of the camo vibe, I wore a cream colored henley long sleeve top underneath it. It's super soft and easy to find for a good price. I went with a pair of dark Levi's for my bottoms and pointed toe boots for my shoes. Simples details like the studding on my boots and thin, gold hoop earrings go a long way. Don't be afraid to accessorize!

#OOTD: Flowers, Baby Blues & Vinyl

The Look

I’m obsessed with flowers, ok!? This may have been evident from my last cookbook post, but just in case you missed it here’s a reminder.

This look is all about giving an outfit depth. It’s such a small detail and such an easy thing to do to add variation to your closet. Mixing and matching is how you get the most out of your clothes! I layered a light blue Reiss sweater on top of a chambray button down by Lucky Brand. I’ve had the button down forever, but keep getting use out of it by wearing it open with a tank top, on the beach with a bikini or like I am in these pictures, under a sweater for added warmth. The versatility is not the only added benefit. Layering helps give a look more visual interest. I love how the button down and sweater are basically the same color, which makes the pairing super subtle. But, the textures and shape are completely different. The collar and the hem of the shirt peep out at the top and bottom of the sweater, giving the look a relaxed, street style feel.

These vinyl pants are seeing their last few wears of the season! Soon it will be too warm for them, so I’m squeezing in those last uses! I love the shiny vinyl style and cut of these pants (high waisted and cropped), but these ones make a little too much noise! Next season I will be rebuying them from a different store like Topshop. They are a little more expensive, but also more wearable. I linked a bunch of styles that I would get today for you to shop above!

On the other hand, you’ll be seeing a lot more of these sneakers. Spring is here and so are all of my white sneakers! I love the velcro closures as they add some variety to my never-ending lace-ups!

#OOTD: Monochromatic Mondays

Claudia Di Capua

The Look

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I broke my wrist last week. Unfortunate AF, but the (blog) show must go on! Wearing a cast does hinder my outfit options, but I'm slowly finding ways to both hide the cast and still look presentable. Today, I went with a full on groutift (grey outfit). Both the top and trousers are from J. Crew while the jacket is from SheIn and the sneakers from Adidas. This look maximizes comfort while minimizing getting dressed in the morning stress on a Monday (haha). These dress pants are right up my alley as they are cropped, showing a little ankle and have a boyfriend fit to them. Not to mention, they have a partially elastic waist making it way easier for me to take them on and off (and wear them long after I get fat. All the jokes today! I digress - Anyhow, the grey layers became an obvious choice as I'm a fan of monochromatic looks. I went with a couple of my favorite gold jewelry pieces including a pair of thin hoop earrings and a Mejuri choker. Shop the whole look above and let me know your thoughts in the comments!

#OOTD: Cozy In My Imaginary Ski Lodge

Claudia Di Capua

The Look

Pretending I'm at a Ski Lodge on some amazing mountain! I plopped down on this couch after going out for lunch and few failed pictures while we were out. This light came in perfectly, so we mustered up the energy to get in a few more photos before the sun went down. I'm wearing a bunch of new pieces in this look including a turtleneck from Aritzia, fitted Levi's jeans, Topshop socks and Monarch Tokyo sunglasses. A lot of the originals are not available online, so I linked items that are almost identical! Check them out above this blurb!

#OOTD: Reacquainted With the Oversized Cardigan

Cami: Cami NYC / Sweater: AritziaPants: AritziaThin Choker: MejuriThicker Chokers: Brandy Melville

The Look

Getting real weekend vibes from this look! Maybe because I wore it last weekend (haha). Anyhow, I have become reacquainted with cardigans and the oversized look has me feeling all bundled up and comfy in this cold weather. I snagged this sweater at Aritzia along with the joggers, which I got in both green and black. When you find comfy basics like these joggers, you get them in every color!

I've had this cami for a little while and always saw it being paired with an oversized look. While the glossy silk material is somewhat dressier, I love the contrast of that style with the cozy sweater and jogger pant. I wore this with heeled boots and it automatically amped up the look. These gold necklaces have been my go-to's ever since my St. Lucia trip and they go with everything! Definitely check out Mejuri and Brandy Melville for affordable pieces that are perfect for layering.

#OOTD: Mackage Coat + Balenciaga Look-alikes

Claudia Di Capua

24550546_10155325593023867_746378501_n.jpg

The Look

Yes, this look is from last week, but I got this shot and have a burning love for this Mackage coat, so I had to do a quick share! This was one of my Black Friday finds, of course. While the coat was still a little pricey even after the discount, it is a must have staple closet item that I'll have forever. obviously, this makes it worth it! I'm so glad I did and that I went with the Navy. I thought about  going for the black, but the studded collar pops so much more against this deep blue (I'll get more into this in a full lookbook post). If you have the chance, definitely try on a Mackage coat so you fall in love and run away with it like I did!

This perfect length coat layers perfectly with my chunky knit sweaters and adds the right amount of balance when I have skinny jeans on like these Madewell ones. The jeans tuck perfectly into these modern, patent combat boots by Steve Madden. They are a bit narrower (so not as clunky), which looks much better on me! I love how they have a clean look while bringing in that luxe Balenciaga style!

#OOTD: Layers + Velvet Platform Shoes

Claudia Di Capua

23601931_10155273965978867_878934301_n.jpg

The Look

A simple way to change up a look or pieces that you wear pretty often is to layer them. For example, I love this sweater and wear it a lot in colder weather, but I added a simple white blouse underneath for added warmth and depth. This made the look more visually interesting and not mention, cozier!

Get yourself a pair of these Levi's jeans because they are truly a highly reliable pair of go-tos! they also let my ankle peep out, which helped me to show off these pink platform brogue shoes (exact ones)! I became obsessed with them after they first came out at Zara! the dusty rose color is so on trend and the velvet gives them that luxe look. Velvet also makes them more appropriate for colder weather!

#OOTD: Weekend Leather + Denim Combo

Claudia Di Capua

23315912_10155256513308867_207958477_n.jpg

The Look

When in doubt, turn to leather and denim! This has always been and will always be my motto. You can't go wrong with a leather jacket, simple button down and cropped jeans. It's comfortable, but still looks put together. It even has that slight edge to it. Once you have a solid base of simple and classic leather jackets, make a move for detailed ones with things like patches or interesting designs. I love this star patch jacket as it's perfect for layering and the patches aren't large or obnoxious.

While I love a leather jacket with midnight black jeans, sometimes it's nice to do the opposite and switch them out for a light cropped pair. This makes the look more daytime casual. I completed the look with a pair of adidas sneakers and my absolute favorite Ray-Bans (if you haven't noticed, I'm obsessed them).

#OOTD: Saturday in Chelsea

Claudia Di Capua

22834407_10155226296358867_993459076_n.jpg

The Look

It's fall and I don't care how unseasonably warm it is - I'm wearing my sweaters! I found this Chunky knit at H&M last week and I am loving it. It's super soft and has that cozy oversized look I have been looking for. It layers super well with both shirts underneath and jackets on top. I' can't wait to wear this with my leather jackets!

I spent last weekend shooting some looks in Chelsea, NYC and thought why not shoot my current look. We walked around and got some awesome tacos in Chelsea Market! I paired the sweater with a classic pair of Levi's and Gucci belt. I love a fitted jean with an oversized top! These pointed toe boots from Asos are a true favorite! The simple studded detail and sleek leather look make them so wearable. Stock up on those basics because they always end up being the most useful pieces!

#OOTD: Breaking Out the Leather Pants & Layers

Sweatshirt: SpringBlouse: EverlanePants: MangoSneakers: Adidas (Stan Smith)Backpack: Gaston Luga

This extremely bazaar and inconsistent weather has caused a bit of confusion when getting prepared each morning, but the temperatures have finally dropped to a “layers appropriate” level. I decided to go all black with hints of white. A more street style look if you will - Shocking, I know. I love mixing textures when I’m wearing mostly the same color, so these sheeny leather pants and rougher looking sweatshirt were the perfect combo. I gave it that layered street look by throwing a white linen button down underneath. I added to this by wearing a pair of white Adidas and my new favorite Gaston Luga backpack!

#OOTD: Revamping The Classics With Gaston Luga

Claudia Di Capua

22407781_10155193402268867_1011399956_n.jpg

Working with Gaston Luga has reminded me that it's okay to get back to the basics. I've been wearing this backpack everyday for a few weeks and it has started to drive a lot of my looks! I love the fabric and leather combo with the added gold embellishments. Details like these are why I'm so excited to introduce this brand to you! I wanted so many of the backpacks when I saw them on the website that it was hard to choose. They are all so functional yet look complementary to fashion forward looks.

Most weekends, I like to dress it down, but sill want to feel put together. This is how I landed on a raw edge vintage looking denim jacket and a pair of Levis. Never underestimate the power of the classics! The high waisted look with a white T, adidas and oversized jacket screams 90's vintage. If you don't have a pair of Levi's 501's you are missing out! They are super affordable and wearable.

#OOTD: Wrap Skirt on the Brooklyn Bridge

Claudia Di Capua

The Look

The last few Saturday's have been dedicated to shooting blog looks, so I figured I share what I wore this past Saturday! After shooting four complete NYFW looks in the city, one of which on the Brooklyn Bridge, I said why not squeeze in a 5th?! Mind you, I changed right on this bridge into this look. I'm expecting this plaid print to be huge this fall landing on blazers, trousers, bags etc. so I was very happy to have this skirt in my closet since last season. It is so comfy and even more handy. The wrap detail and ring closure give this skirt shape, but I want to share a little secret when looking for skirts and dresses. When the skirt has a wrap detail, more specifically when it is asymmetrical, it makes your legs look thinner and longer. I believe that this is thanks to the point where the two pieces of fabric cross. This hack has always worked for me, so I highly recommend giving it a try! You'll probably see this top a few more times. I got it recently at Topshop and have been living init since. Super comfy!

#OOTD: Almost Fall in NYC

Claudia Di Capua

IMG_5493.JPG

The Look

Labor Day Weekend has been one of many weather changes! One second it's raining, and the next the sun is coming out. It has me all weather confused. Anyhow I got a jump start on breaking out the sweaters and scarf with this OOTD. I chose my go-to oversized Zara sweater along with a super light Alexander McQueen skull scarf. I was doing a little work in the city, so I wanted to be comfy, hence the leggings! Of course, the rain called for a cute and simple pair of Sam Edelman wellies! Really comfortable and well priced - highly recommend. Hope everyone is having a great 3 day weekend!

#OOTD: Ruffles in London

Claudia Di Capua

Hello from London! Flew across the pond and am still trying to get a grasp on what the weather is like here! It changes pretty quickly. I've been wearing a mix of summer/early fall pieces since it's a little windy and overcast a lot of the time. This Anthropologie top does the trick especially since I am layering today. The ruffles give off that street style European vibe! I completed the look with a pair of Ralph Lauren mid rise jeans, Adidas sneakers and gold necklaces. Check out my Instagram for more of my looks and OOTD's!

#OOTD: Miami Swim Week

Claudia Di Capua

You guys may remember this top from my trip to Greece, but it seemed like the perfect top for a trip to Miami Swim Week! It's truly is such a great summer top and is great for everything from going to the beach to going to the bar. I took full advantage of the exposed front by wearing a gold body chain and necklace. Body jewelry is such an easy way to add summer vibes to your look! I found this one at Brandy Melville, but I've heard success stories from people that have bought them on Etsy. I paired this Tularose top with a favorite pair of Lovers And Friend jeans. They are such high quality jeans and fit so well! Not too high and not too low on the waist, plus, the crop hits at the perfect spot on the ankle. The tips are great for comfort, but make the overall look more casual. This is why I opted for a dressier Stuart Weitzman heel!

#OOTD: Lover T-shirt + Denim Shorts

Claudia Di Capua

The Look

I've slowly been getting into t-shirts like this Lover one by H&M. While I am not full blown band-t kind of gal, I do like a vintage looking t-shirt and this one is on sale right now for just under $10! I linked it above, don't worry. I love These types of tops with a great pair of cutoff or high waisted shorts. I finished it off with my Gucci belt, Ray-Ban sunglasses and white sneakers to complete my summer street style look!

Linen + Color Blocked Denim

Claudia Di Capua

It's getting really warm here in NY, so I broke out my linen and denim mini skirt. I'm obsessed with this new Topshop color block skirt! It is the perfect length and snugness. I always try to wear a flowier piece when I'm also wearing a more fitted item like this skirt, which is why I added this top. It helps to keep the look breeze and comfy. Let me know your thoughts in the comments! Thoughts on denim skirts?!

#OOTD: Busy Day + Rhipped Hat

Claudia Di Capua

Every day of the week is a ripped denim day for me, so no surprise you're seeing it here in this post! These Levi's jeans are so comfy and have been a go-to pair since I bought them. Also, Levi's aren't super expensive and you get a great quality pair of jeans! I went with a simple linen button down blouse and white sneakers to look put together, but still feel comfortable. It's a tad windy these days so the Rhipped hat helped me keep my hair from flying everywhere and complemented the Barney's backpack.

I hope you all have a great Friday and are getting excited for the weekend! What do your Friday OOTD's look like? Aka, what's your "it's almost weekend uniform"? Let me know in the comments!
