My Spring Closet Wishlist

Claudia Di Capua

Untitled-4.png

With the recent snow and rain to come here in NY, I needed to start thinking positive thoughts. Naturally, I turned to clothes and what I'm going to wear after these early spring showers! I'm excited to try out a bunch of different styles, shapes and colors as we move into warm weather including ruffles, gingham, midi lengths and more. I go into more detail in each of the categories below, so let me know what items you'd like to try as well in the comments! Happy shopping!

Tops

This spring and summer season, I am going to try to branch out to flowy tops that have more depth. What I mean by this is, try going for tops with more layers, asymmetric looks and off the shoulder silhouettes. I always thought having clean, structured lines was the only way to put together a minimal look, but I am determined to integrate more (light) colors and depth to what I wear!

SHORTS

Skirts

Ruffles, lace-up and gingham are three things I have my sight set on! I don't like voluminous ruffles on me, so nothing too frilly. But a light single layered ruffle adds the perfect amount of liveliness to a skirt or short especially if it's a muted or light color.

Dresses

I must admit, many of these dresses are ideal for vacations, but picture yourself on a summer weekend in one of these maxi dresses! I'm obsessed with some of these colors, prints and lengths. The Reformation and Revolve have some awesome dresses both short and maxi lengths, but a friend just told me of a brand called Misa LA (I was slow to the game on this one) and their pieces are gorgeous! Perfect materials for flowy, whimsical dresses and I linked some above!

DENIM

SETS

Ahhh, denim and sets. These two categories could possibly be my two favorites of spring and summer. I've really developed a passion for denim and love seeing how different brands interpret styles. Everything from clean and classic denim to distressed, rugged denim catches my eye! I'm obsessed with sets, especially for vacation. I love that they have two purposes, which is to be worn together and can usually be work separately. I would wear any of the items I linked alone just as much as I would together!

Shoes & Accessories

I have finally jumped on the espadrille wagon! I'm in love with the Ciao Bella Soludos (first shoes linked), circle woven bag from Nordstrom and all of the jewelry from & Other Stories. They all have such a carefree and effortless look to them making them the perfect light pieces for spring and summer!

The Edit: Top Street Style Pieces

Claudia Di Capua

If you'd followed me for a while, you know that my favorite style is street style. I'm obsessed with how it evolves with the season and love seeing how weird people can get (in all the best ways, of course)! There is an artistic side to street style just as there is to runway clothing. While it's not wearable in every setting it is always amazing and interesting to look at.

I put together a post of my favorite WEARABLE for everyday street style items. Things like faux fur bags, oversized knits, vintage sweatshirts and beret hats have made the edit. Mixing textures is the name of the game these days. Don't be afraid to try some crazy combinations like a vinyl/patent leather skirt or pants with a faux fur or bright oversized sweater. I love pairing fitted and loose items in the same look. Take a gander below and get ready to slay as a street style star!
